Food Systems in afghanistan.
The World Food Programme, afghanistan, 2017
Traveled to Kabul to support the Country Strategic Planning process. I worked with long-time project staff and partners to capture and formalize their knowledge and with country leadership to align technical knowledge with strategic direction. Identified existing and potential linkages across programs, as well as opportunity areas with national and global strategies, policies, and trends.
My output from this visit was a lengthy report which recommended a strategic direction for food systems work in Afghanistan. While this report is not publicly available, I also produced a public facing fact sheet highlighting key findings and approaches.
Socializing the global strategy
While in Kabul, I also presented the new global food systems strategy in order to socialize the full country team to help them understand this approach to integrating programming across the food system, from production to consumption.
